The Abarth 1000 Record of 1965 has been restored

After an accurate work of a conservative restoration the Abarth 1000 Record of 1965 of the swiss collection The Pearl Collection was back in Monza where it won two speed records.



Entrusted to Lopresto, the car was restored with a particular attention for the conservation of its original paint, ma treated with technics used with the SCAT's restoration of 1912 and the Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ prototype and borrowed from the restoration of artworks. 


The work was completed with a accurate mechanic review and the remake of the original logos in the bodywork, modified through the years.

During the researches related to the restoration, the history of the car was unveiled, mistakenly dateed back 1960 on the contrary it was completed in 1965 to attend a speed record session at the Monza's track.
On this occasion, with a 750 engine, conquered to win two speed records(on the 500m and on the fourth mile) drived by Mario Potronieri.

The car is now displayed temporarly at the Museo dell'Automobile of Torino.
