In Milan the second Riunione Motoristica

“D'Annunzio, libri e motori, non qui a impolverarsi…”

After the success of the first Riunione Motoristica, that took place in the 6th of January in the historic Vittoriale degli Italiani, the pre-war cars were back to be admired in Milan on Thursday 8th of March.

The event was named "D'Annunzio, libri e motori, non qui a impolverarsi" was organized by the Lopresto Collection with the support of CMAE and the patronage of Milan municipality.

This occasion also has given tribute to the figure of Gabriele d'Annunzio that in the August of 1918 flew over Vienna throwing flyers to invite to surrender. Twenty-five cars were built between the 1900 and the 30s gathered in Linate airport for a lunch at the Comando Militare della 1a Regione Aerea. 

After the lunch, the caravan headed to the center of Milan, arriving in Via Montenapoleone where it was accepted with the fanfare of the Air Force. After, inside the showroom of Larusmiani, the president of  Fondazione Il Vittoriale degli Italiani, Giordano Bruno Guerri and the General Silvano Frigerio of the Air Force were the the protagonists of a little speech in honor of the flew over of Vienne.

For the occasion Corrado Lopresto has presented to the people the original bag of D'Annunzio which was brought in Vienna for the throw of flyers and also a series of photos took during the fly over were displayed that day.

Among the participating cars, the cars that have attracted huge attention the Renault racer of 1900, a huge Locomobile of 1915, a Bugatti T23, an Alfa Romeo RL and a 6C Cabriolet Pinin Farina with a particular 2 figures license plate, in addition of the jewelry from the Lopresto Collection: the most ancient Lancia still existing, a 12HP "Alfa" of 1909, a very elegant Lancia Astura Cabriolet of Stabilimenti Farina and an Ansaldo of 1926 still in exceptional conditions of preservation.
