In memory of Aristide Molteni

The gentlemen driver Aristide Molteni, passionate racing driver and cars enthusiast, left us a few days ago.

Lopresto Collection is honored to preserve his Alfa Romeo Giulietta SV, which features a special bodywork.

His recent loss gives us the occasion to bring to light the story behind his Giulietta Sprint Veloce, which was purchased from the Milanese famous entrepreneur Angelo Moratti. The car was laying damaged in a workshop in Milano, and Molteni managed to by the car from him at one condition: it had to be used for race purposes only. He needed not to be told twice.

Aristide started to race with the car in 1958, and in the following years the silhouette of the Giulietta SV continues to change together with many successes, pursuing aerodynamical excellence and time-on-lap thinning. The final shape is identically preserved nowdays.

The car is shown today at MAC Museum in Singen, in an exhibition that celebrates Italian automotive genius and production in the second half of 20th century.
